Spicy Sauted Tuna (Tumis Tuna Pedas)

Today, i am going to share the recipe for you who are feeling too tired to cook, but you still need to satisfy your tummy. Or, you only have a limited ingredients at your home, you can cook this dish. ^__^ I have a simple menu (good for breakfast, fast and easy), with only several ingredients, and it’s easy to make as long as you have these things:

Ingredients:

2 kaleng tuna (kira-kira masing-masing 150 gr), boleh tuna pedas (tuna chili) atau tuna biasa
2 canned tuna flakes in oil (around 150 gr each)

3 siung bawang merah, cincang halus
3 cloves  shallot, finely minced

2 siung bawang putih, cincang halus
2 cloves garlic, finely minced

1/4 bagian bawang bombay ukuran kecil, potong dadu
1/4 part of small size onion, diced

4 buah cabe rawit, iris tipis-tipis (tambahkan jika suka pedas)
4 bird eye chilies, finely sliced (add more if you like more spicy)

1/2 sdt saus ikan
1/2 tspn fish sauce

minyak secukupnya untuk menumis
oil for saute

Flavoring:

1/2 sdt garam (sesuaikan dengan selera)
1/2 tspn salt (adjust to your palate)

1/4 sdt merica bubuk (sesuaikan dengan selera)
1/4 tspn ground white pepper (adjust to your palate)

1 sdm gula pasir (sesuaikan dengan selera)
1 tbspn sugar (adjust to your palate)

2-3 sdm kecap manis
2-3 tbspn sweet soy sauce

How to cook:

  1. Panaskan wajan berisi minyak untuk menumis
    Heat the pan with oil for saute
  2. Tumis bawang merah, bawang putih, bawang bombay, cabe rawit, tambahkan kecap ikan
    Saute shallot, garlic, onion and chilies, add the fish sauce. Saute until the smell comes out
  3. Pisahkan tuna dari minyaknya, kemudian masukkan ke dalam tumisan, aduk rata
    Separate canned tuna from its oil, then put tuna into the pan, saute until mixed well
  4. Masukkan garam, merica bubuk, gula pasir, dan kecap manis ke dalam tumisan
    Add salt, white pepper, sugar, and sweet soy sauce, mixed
  5. Cicipi, tambahkan bumbu-bumbu apabila terasa kurang
    Taste, add flavoring if needed
  6. Tumis hingga tuna mulai kecoklatan (mengering)
    Saute until tuna turns brown (dry)
  7. Angkat, siap disajikan dengan nasi hangat
    Turned off the stove, and the dish is ready to serve with rice
